Sitting in that English class and waiting for Professor Willis to hand out the test
The students are ready
Their pens and pencils sharpened,
Their notebooks set aside
The anxiety is gone because Professor Willis is going to be easy this time
He is known on campus for being easy
He is a tenured professor and everyone likes him because he has seen students come and go
Professor Willis has also travelled the world over
After all, it is the first test of the semester
He has just returned from Israel with stops in Italy and UK
We are told he visited the graveyard of Shakespeare
After all he had promised the student it will be and easy semester as he nears retirement
Professor Willis would not lie to his students, would he?
We could have really used a Garmin GPS to navigate through the mind of Professor Willis
He was a very simple yet complicated man
Not only had he spent time in Africa studying in the jungles, he also had to deal with mosquitoes and other various small creatures that could kill any day without the right medication
What a class it was, we had some very smart students from China, Japan, and also from Russia.
The foreign students, they were good at Math but when it came to English, we knew we had them
We could dazzle them
Where have you gone Conan? We could use your wisdom in this class of Professor Willis
Professor Willis shows up with his text book in the right hand and a large folder tucked underneath his arm
Where is the test, Conan? I asked
I looked for some answers from the student next to me. He was from Japan and he looked away
Do you think, he forget the test, Conan, I asked?
I can’t imagine this will happen for our first test
I was not ready but I wanted to get the anxiousness done with
Professor Willis enters the classroom majestically and announced, the test is going to be shown on the large projector screen and we are supposed to answer the question on the screen
Professor Willis wasted no time and the overhead projector dropped down and the lights dimmed and the question shown on the screen
Please answer the following question: Where’s Conan?
The end!
